Pvt Francis D. Martini was married to Margaret Welch on 25 July 1936. They were divorced in 1945.He enlisted at Fort Devens, Massachusetts on 5 April 1944. He was killed by gunshot wounds in the chest and the head.
In Boston the Francis D. Martini Memorial Shell in Hyde Park is named after him.
