Sgt Harry A. Fohl attended high school for four years and was a bellman before he enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 4 January 1943.

He was reported lightly wounded in action and evactuated to a hospital on the day of his death. At that time B Company was holding the town of Herny, France.
