Pvt William F. Beacht was married to Mary Louise Alrecht on 21 October 1939.

He was working for the Bethlehem Steel Company at the Bethlehem-Fairchild Shipyard when he enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 12 July 1944.

He was stationed at New Cumberland, Pennsylvania until September, when he was sent to Camp Wheeler, Georgia for paratroop infantry training. However, when the Battle of the Bulge began in December his training was cut short and he was sent overseas as a replacement. He joined his unit on 26 February 1945.

Pvt Beacht died in an accident.

He is remembered at the Park Heights Cemetery in Brunswick, Maryland.
