Louis S. Jacobus attended Rockaway High School where he played football, after which he was employed by the Dover Tank and Stack Co. He also worked for Dover Boiler Plate and Fabricators.He enlisted on 24 April 1943 at Newark in New Jersey and trained at Camp Campbell, Kentucky. He was overseas for about a year at the time of his death.
At the time of his death his brother Lawrence was serving in the U.S. Navy, stationed at the West Coast.
