Timothy J. Mc Carthy immigrated to the United States on 11 October 1925.He was a blacksmith before he enlisted on 14 February 1942 at Fort Devens in Massachusetts.
Sgt Mc Carthy was sent overseas 18 months before he was killed and fought through the Italian campaign and participatied in the invastion of Southern France.
