Pfc Rudolph E. Hillstrom enlisted at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 12 September 1942.A brother of Pfc Hillstrom, Pvt Marvin A. Hillstrom was also a casualty of WWII. He was a tank driver and died on 25 August 1944 in France and received the Silver Star Medal.
