Private Anthony Bei worked as a photographer before he enlisted at Fort Jay, New York on 27 May 1942.

He was killed during the Waal River crossing and was intially buried at the American War Cemetery of Molenhoek, The Netherlands on 22 September 1944.

His name is mentioned on the Waal Crossing Monument in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
