Sgt Eugene F. Mailliard attended 4 years of high school and was an employer for the American Viscose Co., a synthetic fiber producing company before he enlisted in Erie, Pennsylvania on 6 July 1942.
He is also remembered at the Saint Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery in Crawford County, Pennsylvania.
His brother Paul was killed in action on 21 December 1944 and is buried at the American Cemetery in Military Cemetery of Luxembourg.
