Sgt Edward R. Cawley graduated from Forty Fort High School in 1935 and was employed by Remington Rand Company in Bridgeport.He enlisted at Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on 12 February 1943. He missed going overseas with his unit because he was on leave. He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 29 October 1944.
Three of his brothers also served during the war.
