Pfc Benjamin E. Smith graduated from Central High School.

He worked at the Clifton plant of Curtiss Propeller Division before he enlisted on 25 March 1944 and was sent overseas in October 1944. He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 15 December 1944. He was promoted to Private First Class on 2 February 1945.

On one of the pictures he poses with his mother, two sisters and two sons.
