Barrett A. Levinsky attended college for two years.

He enlisted at Fort Dix, New Jersey on 5 February 1942.
Just before the IP, the airplane was attacked severely by enemy aircraft which set a wing afire immediately. It left the formation, peeling of to the left, and went straight down. the plane exploded as it descended.
Two crew members were blown out of the plane and were lucky to wear a back parachute and survived the crash. All other seven crew members had either been killed in the attacks or were killed as the plane exploded.
