Pfc Richard J. Stephens attended Blythe Township High School.He enlisted on 23 February 1943 in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He received basic training at Camp Beauregard and Camp Cleiborne, Louisiana. He was also stationed in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He joined his unit from a replacement depot on 27 June 1944 and was lightly wounded in action on 17 July 1944.
