Pfc Barrett T. Mc Laughlin attended Normandy High School in St. Louis, Missouri where he was a halfback of the football team.

He enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 24 February 1944 and joined his unit from a replacement depot on 20 September 1944.

He is remembered at the Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum at Saint Louis, Missouri.
