Sgt Joseph A. Valousky was employed by the Lehigh Valley Railroad before he enlisted on 7 February 1942 in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. He was sent overseas in August 1942 and participated in the Normandy invasion on 6 June 1944. He was reported seriously wounded in action on 18 June 1944. After recovering, he rejoined his unit.
