Pfc Robert Taylor graduated from Knox College in 1929. He enlisted on 16 June 1943 at Chicago, Illinois.He joined his unit from Replacement Depot on 2 September 1944 and was promoted to sergeant on 16 November 1944.
He was reported missing in action on 24 November 1944.
His status was changed from MIA to KIA on 25 November 1944.
After the war, his brother, Henry, endowed a scholarship fund in Robert's name for Knox students.
