S/Sgt William J. Tintera, Jr graduated from Gorton High School in 1934 and Oswego State Teacher College in 1941.

He worked on the Ontarian and Oswegonian and was assistant-director of the Dramatics Club.

He taught industrial art at Longfellow Junior High School.

S/Sgt Tintera enlisted in New York City, New York on 17 January 1944.
