Pvt Glenn J. Clark attended high school for four years and was a carpenter before he volunteered for the Army of the United States at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 21 November 1942.

Pvt Clark was raised by his grandparents. After their death, his aunt became his Next of Kin.
