More information
1st Lt Jack L. Wyatt attended college before he joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Tyler, Texas on 16 June 1942.1st Lt David D. Stiner:
Aircraft was attacked by fighters just prior to target. No3 engine and wing were seriously damaged. A/C followed formation to target and completed its bomb run. Pilot kept A/C flying to allow seven of the crew bail out. Pilot and three others were killed when A/C exploded in air. Another airman was killed when his parachute failed to deploy. Six were made POW's.
I believe he was killed when the plane blew up.
He is remembered at the Algoma Cemetery South and North Marshall, Harrison, Texas.
