S/Sgt Alton Reed graduated from Madison County High School and attended Draughon’s Business College in Nashville. He was a filling station attendant before he enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 13 March 1943. He has been in Europe since 15 May 1944.

2nd Lt W. E. Pepper:
The plane was hit by rockets fired by JU-88's and set fire to the ship. Electric system was shot out so there was no more intercommunication. The plane was blown up.

He is remembered Gurley Cemetery at Gurley, Madison County, Alabama.
