Pvt Joe M. Attebery was a chauffeur before he enlisted on 30 June 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944, arriving in France in August.He was wounded in his loins and abdomen by artillery fragments. He died in the 34th Evacuation Hospital that was stationed in Verdun, France at that time.
