F/O Levi F Anderson Jr. graduated from Handley High School in 1937.

He joined the Air Corps of the Army of the United States at Olmsted Field, Pennsylvania on 25 June 1942.

He was reported wounded in action on D-day. For this wound he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal a first time.

The glider was last seen when it broke formation. What exactly happened is unknown.

The two crew members were killed. Also two passengers were killed, two men survived.
