Pfc Benjamin A. Perone enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 26 September 1942. He attended Bound Brooks schools and was employed by the Bound Brook Oil-less Bearing Company in civilian life. He and the former Miss Banco of Somerville were married in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Somerville on Easter Sunday. Pfc Perone, who had been overseas about two and a half months, was attached to the 95th Division of Lieut. Gen. George S. Patton's Third Army.He was first buried at Temporary American Military Cemetery Limey, France.
