Sgt William H. Dickenson joined the Regular Army on 29 November 1939.He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
He is remembered at the Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenwood, Jackson County, Florida, with his brother Ben.
His brother, Ensign Benjamin W. Dickenson, was killed on 7 June 1944 and is remembered on the Tablets of the Missing at Honolulu Memorial in Hawaii.
