The airplane was hit by flak near Celle, Germany, whilst strafing German army barracks.

Lt Warwick was the youngest son of the family and the third for four brothers that was killed in action.

Pvt William E. Warwick was the only surviving son, who was serving with the Army in Germany at that time.

Pfc Albert L. Warwick is buried at the Luxembourg American Cemetery, Cpl John W. Warwick is buried at the Ardennes American Cemetery next to Henry K. Warwick.
