Pvt Clemmie Lynom worked on a farm before he enlisted at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 4 February 1943.

Pvt Lynom was taken prisoner and was wounded during an air raid in Germany. He suffered a fracture of his skull, serious injury of the brain and inflammation of the skin of the brain. It is not sure on which date he got wounded. He died in Koblenz and was initially buried at the French cemetery of Koblenz-Karthause on 10 January 1945.
