Pvt Earle E. Simons enlisted in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 2 September 1943. He trained at Fort Knox in Kentucky and went overseas in March, serving in England, France, Belgium and Holland. He attended William Penn High School and Dickinson College and was sales supervisor for Manbeck's Bakery before he was inducted.
