Vincent P. Boyer joined the Air Corps of the Regular Army in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania on 13 June 1941.He had been overseas since February 1944.
After releasing from the tow plane over the landing zone, Lt Boyer made a 360° approach. The glider stalled out at about 100 ft. from ground and went straight in.
Lt Boyer was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Son, the Netherlands.
