Cpl Edward L. Bane attended college for 1 year and worked in a warehouse. He enlisted in Clarsburg, West Virginia on 28 December 1942.

He was awarded a Bronze Star for heroic service in connection with military operations against the enemy in France on 24 July, 1944.

He was killed when the tank destroyer he served in was hit by enemy artillery fire and burned. Another casualty was Sgt Eddie A. Scott.
