Pfc Ralph H. Askren graduated from Warren Central High School and was a driver at the Indianapolis Wire Bound Box Company before he enlisted in Indianapolis, Indiana on 16 December 1942. He was sent overseas on 21 April 1944.At 1130 in the morning, B Company reported one tank destroyer had been knocked out and burned. It is believed that Pfc Askren was killed in this action.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
