Capt Norman B. Estes was married to Frances Zuger on 23 July 1942

He was killed in his command post in a basement when a mortar shell came in through a very small roof. The explosion killed him instantly.

On one picture, Capt Estes poses with his new born sun Michael. On another picture, his comrade Lt. Mulder poses with his wife who holds Capt Estes's son.

Lt. Mulder is remembered at the Walls of the Missing at Margraten.

One picture was taken by Major William C. Crawford in the vicinity of Sanite Mère-Eglise in France in late September 1944. Major Crawford served with Capt Estes during the Rhineland campaign.
