2nd Lt Felix F. Kupris joined the Regular Army on 24 August 1937. He was commissioned a second lieutenant after successful completion of the officer candidate course at the infantry school at Fort Benning, Georgia.

He was married to Louise Floyd on 17 April 1943.

The balance of Company C proceeded in the attack to be pinned down by heavy small arms fire near a small canal and a large farmhouse. The platoon leader, Lt Felix F. Kupris, being killed outright by machine gun fire.
