Sgt Earl V. Springer attended the University of Maryland and was a sports instructor before he enlisted at Fort G. Meade, Maryland on 15 January 1942. He was sent overseas in November 1944.

He is remembered at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown, Maryland.
