T/5 Andy B. Poole worked on a farm.

He enlisted at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina on 12 June 1942 and was sent overseas around July 1943.

He was killed in action by artillery shell fragments in the thorax.

His brother Laton, was killed in action in Normandy, France, on 4 July 1944. He is buried at the Normandy American Cemetery.
