Pfc Jerome L. Schmitt was a farmhand.He enlisted in Louisville, Kentucky on 14 August 1942 and was sent overseas in December 1943.
He drowned. The exact circumstances are unknown.
His brother Francis was killed in action in Korea on 2 September 1951.
