Sgt Albert G. Allgeier graduated from Erie Technical High School and was employed at the Erie Forge and Steel Company.He enlisted on 19 December 1942 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was sent overseas in January,1944.
On the afternoon of 16 April 1945 three men of B Battery, Capt Gordon Potter, his driver Sgt Albert Allgeier and Pfc William Ousley, were on their way from B Battery to HQ Battery in a jeep when they were ambushed. They incurred multiple bullet wounds and their fate was not known for the Battery until 3 May.
