Sgt Walker D. Roberts attended high school for three years and was a clerk before he enlisted in Richmond, Virginia on 5 March 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his stomach.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
