Pvt Cosmo Lattanzio was a kitchen helper at the Rutland State Sanatorium in Massachusetts before he enlisted in Springfield, Massachusetts on 25 July 1942.On 7 November, Cosmo Lattanzio and Karl F. Weaver were driving an ammunition truck on a muddy and slippery road in the vicinity of Morville-sur-Seille, when the truck turned over and came into a culver. Both men drowned.
