Sgt Dale P. Huffer worked on the family farm before he volunteered for the Air Corps of the Army of the United States at Camp Perry, Ohio on 10 November 1942.The airplane was hit at the tail section by another B-17 in the group. It dropped his bombs and exploded as it dove away.
He is remembered at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Warsaw, Kosciusko, Indiana.
