Pvt Marion E. Tilghman was employed by the E.I. Dupont Company.

He enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 2 November 1942.

He was killed by a landmine explosion. The same day three other military policemen, Louis Gerling, Stephen Foti and Robert Deatherage were killed in action by a landmine explosion.
