1st Sgt Nathaniel H. Garraway attended high school for four years and was a driver before he enlisted at Camp Shelby, Mississippi on 23 January 1942.

He was killed during an accident with a fire arm.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Solers, France.
