Pvt Novie N. Ross enlisted in Boise, Idaho on 18 October 1943.He was killed, together with three of his comrades, when a mine, that was stored in a barn next to the mill of Waldfeucht, exploded. This caused a chain reaction, causing fifty to sixty mines to detonate.
Together with his three comrades, he is remembered on a plate that is attached to the wall of the mill.
