Pvt Richard L. Mc Cormick graduated from Mariana High School and was employed by the state road department and by the Seaboard Railway Company.Pvt Richard L. Mc Cormick joined the Regular Army in Jacksonville, Florida in February 1941 and was sent overseas in July 1944.
After serving in a headquarters company, he was transferred to a tank battalion. He was tank commander of his unit at the time of his death.
He was severely wounded on 28 November 1944 and died on 4 December 1944 in a hospital in Germany.
