T/Sgt Allen Christal enlisted in Seattle, Washington at December the 30th, 1941.1st Lt Donald E. King, who was piloting the aircraft in the no. 3 position in the 2nd element of flight in which Sgt Christal's aircraft was flying no. 2 position in the 3rd element, states that he saw Sgt Christal's aircraft hit by flak, just after turning from IZ at 14:39 hours, make a steep bank, hit the ground and explode. He saw four parachutes leave the plane and open. There is no additional information in the MACR about what happened with Sgt Christal after he bailed out.
T/Sgt Christal's remains have been recovered and interred at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery on 17 August 1959.
