Pfc Henry E. Smith graduated from Shelton High School in 1938 and was employed at Hershey Metal Products Inc.He enlisted on 19 February 1942 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts.
He landed on Omaha Beach on D-Day and was promoted to Private First Class on 17 October 1944.
