T/4 George E. Brown graduated from Wells High School with the class of 1937 after which he attended Albany Business College. He was also a graduate of the Lincoln School of Electric Welding at Cleveland, Ohio. Upon completion of his schooling, he was employed by the American Locomotive Company of Schenectady, New York as a welder.He enlisted in Albany, New York on 5 July 1943.
