Maj Arnold B. Robert graduated from Decatur High School and of the University of Illinois in 1934. He also received a Medical Degree from Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Maj Arnold enlisted in January 1942.

His brother-in-law, Sgt William G. Allen, was killed in Germany on 19 April 1945 and is also are buried at Margraten.
