More information

1st Lt Kenneth R. Robinson graduated from Rice Avenue Union High School in 1940 before he joined the Regular Army in August 1940.

After graduating from Officers Candidate School he served as an instructor for two years at Camp Polk, Louisiana. He was sent overseas in September 1944.

He was awarded the Silver Star Medal. The citation cited: 1st Lt Robinson displayed outstanding leadership during an assault on a heavily fortified enemy position. He quickly reorganized the company when his company commander was wounded. Without consideration for his own safety, he led his men until their mission was accomplished.
