More information
Pfc George W. Alexander was wounded in action in the vicinity of Bocheim, Germany and taken to the 97th Evacuation Hospital, where he died. This hospital was stationed in three large buildings of a German military institution, just outside Brand. With a letter, dated 27 November 1950, his former wife and his two daughters, requested that the body of Pfc Alexander would be transported to the U.S.A. to be buried at home.
Since at the time of his death, he was already divorced and his daughters were not of legal age, a "Request for Dispostion of Remains" form was send to his sister, Louise Mc Coy, who was at that moment next in the line of precedence. She desired that his remains would be permanently interred at Henri-Chapelle.
