More information
Pvt. Fred Wayt attended Centennial High School in Pueblo and was a driver before he enlisted in Denver, Colorado on 19 August 1943.During a battle with German forces on the road between Asten and Meijel, Pvt Wayt's company lost four M-10 tank destroyers (3 burned; 1 captured). Presumably, he was in one of the M-10 vehicles that burned. His remains were never found.
