Pvt Lawrence C. Jolliff enlisted at Fort Hayes, Ohio on 28 February 1941. He was stationed at Fort Stevens, Oregon with the coast artillery. He volunteered for service in Alaska and left in December 1942 where he spent 21 months and returned in September 1944 to the United States. He was sent overseas on 10 February 1945.He was married to Ethel Louise Crawford on 27 September 1944.
